Ecumenica: Call for Submissions
03 September, 2016 | 0 comments
Ecumenica: a Journal of Theatre and Performance invites the submission of scholarship on theatre, performance, religion, and spirituality.
Ecumenica seeks innovative scholarship. The journal invites submissions that deal with any type of theatrical performance, including performance art, dance, film, and other phenomena that may be the concern of Performance Studies. The journal is also interested in submissions that deal with elements of religion, including theology and performative practices such as ritual, pilgrimage, and meditation. Submissions need not be explicitly concerned with the relationship between theatre and religion, but can treat any topic in which matters of theatrical performance and/or religion are implicit.
The journal does not limit its interests to any particular traditions of religion or theatre, but seeks contributions that reveal performance and religion as phenomena that occur in a great variety of forms.
Ecumenica publishes not only scholarly essays, but also interviews, reviews of productions and performances, book reviews, reports on field work, comparative analyses, editorial essays and commentaries, and plays. The journal welcomes submissions from established and emerging scholars, and from artists.
Ecumenica is a peer-reviewed, print journal, published twice annually. It is indexed by EBSCO, MLA, ATLA, and ProQuest.
