POPULAR ENTERTAINMENT STUDIES
Volume 7, number 1 (2016)
Deadline extended for submission of articles
To FRIDAY FEBRUARY 12
Expressions of interest are invited from scholars and scholar/practitioners for the next issue of Popular Entertainment Studies. These should be sent as a matter of urgency to the editors, Victor.Emeljanow@newcastle.edu.au or Gillian.Arrighi@newcastle.edu.au.
The journal welcomes scholarly work in any area of popular entertainments. We note the ongoing interest in the relationship between performance and its presence in times of war and also that the 2016 International Federation for Theatre Research’s conference is themed “Presenting the Theatrical Past: interplays of artefacts, discourses and practices.” Perhaps one or other of these points of intersection may prove suggestive as well.
The journal welcomes expressions of interest from scholars working in European and non-European cultural contexts as well as those researching multimedia entertainments and non-textual entertainment.
Popular Entertainment Studies, now in its seventh year of publication, is indexed and abstracted by Thomson Reuters in: Arts and Humanities Citation Index® and Current Contents®/Arts & Humanities.
