The Brazilian Journal on Presence Studies [Revista Brasileira de Estudos da Presença], an open access online journal, will be receiving, until September 30, 2015,new articles that fall within the broad theme of PERFORMANCE TECHNOLOGY. The edition is intended to give greater visibility to contemporary discourse around this topic through innovative contributions to the advancement of knowledge in this field of the Performing Arts. The edition will focus on works of a critical and analytical nature seeking to: a) reflect on the relationship between contemporary performing arts (theatre, dance, and hybrid languages) and new technologies; b) discuss the understanding and function of the performer in relation to the presence of technology on stage; c) reconsider concepts of technology-mediated performance; and/or d) propose new ways of thinking and describing art works in their multiple relations with the technologised contemporary scene. In this sense, the journal expects to receive works derived from research with conceptual reflection in the field of the Performing Arts and will give particular attention to those making use of images and videos to develop their reflections. The text should follow the journal's standards and be posted directly to our submission system to follow the general evaluation process of the journal by clicking on the corresponding section (Performance Technology). The journal does not charge submission or publication fees and uses the double-blind peer-review system. The text can be in Portuguese, Spanish, English, or French, and will be published in two languages. Authors sending texts in Portuguese or Spanish will be required to send an English translation.
