UNSW is one of Australia's leading research and teaching universities, with a commitment to new and creative approaches to education and research.  The School of the Arts and Media, in UNSW Arts and Social Sciences, teaches undergraduate, honours and postgraduate programs in Creative Writing, Dance, English, Film, Media, Music, and Theatre and Performance Studies.

UNSW Arts and Social Sciences is seeking to appoint a highly motivated Theatre Studies scholar who can make a substantial contribution to the teaching of Theatre and Performance Studies in the School’s undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The specific capacity to teach courses in Australian drama and theatre is required.

Applicants should hold a PhD in a relevant field with a track record of outstanding publications or creative work.  The appointee will be expected to maintain and develop research or creative work excellence and be able to supervise Higher Degree Research students.

  • The position will be offered on a full-time continuing basis
  • Level of appointment will be determined on the basis of previous experience and qualifications.
  • The successful applicant will be expected to commence by 5 January 2015. 
  • A relocation allowance will be offered to successful interstate or overseas appointees.
