Wesleyan University - Visiting Assistant Professor of Theater

The Theater Department at Wesleyan University invites applications for a full-time Visiting Assistant Professor in theater criticism, history, and theory, beginning fall 2014. The position is for one year with a possibility for renewal. The candidate should have terminal degree in hand or be very close to completion; teaching experience in a liberal arts environment is preferred. The teaching load consists of five courses a year. We seek candidates who are able to teach a two-semester survey of theater history and additional courses in specialization areas, including but not limited to: non-Western, European, or American performance; contemporary productions of classical texts; dramaturgy; dramatic literature; political theater; popular forms; and feminist, gender, or queer performance.
