Junior Professorship in Media Culture Studies Goethe Universität Frankfurt

The faculty of Modern Languages and Literature at the Goethe Universität Frankfurt (Germany), department of theater, film and media offers the following position to be filled:

Junior Professorship (W1) in Media Culture Studies
(six years, non-tenure track)

An additional focus in theater and/or film studies is expected. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in media culture studies and a proven track record of excellence in research and teaching. S/he will have a strong interest in cultural theory and a specialization in one or more of the following areas: Digital media, sound studies, media archeology, history of science/science and technology studies and gender studies.
International candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. The language of teaching is German or English. Administrative work requires a working knowledge of German. Successful international candidates will be offered access to intensive German language courses if needed.

The designated salary for the position is based on "W1" on the German university scale.
